on Open Source platform
3D Technologies R&D AS was established in 2006 by a group of skilled systems designers with the goal of first developing de facto standard platform for rendering 3D objects in the web environment and thereafter building a marketable set of end-user applications based on the platform.
The single most important project has been the design and development of 3DMLW (3D Markup Language for the Web), an Open Source platform for making it possible to render real-time 3D objects in a web browser or implement in custom applications.
Based on 3DMLW, our key products are 3D Kiosk and 3D Wayfinder - interactive applications for real-time 3D visualisation, made for the web or touch-screen kiosks. These applications were born from the actual demands of our customers.
Our customers are museums, municipalities, companies and kiosk manufacturers who all benefit from our interactive 3D solutions.
The company is led by Taavi Juursalu. Technical development is led by Jaanus Uri. 3D Technologies R&D is backed by Venture capitalists.
We are cooperating with University of Tartu and other institutions for research and development projects. Our main research areas are 3D displays, real-time 3D rendering, touchless interaction.
